Our Abhyanga (Synchronized Oil Massage Treatment)

Treatment Process & Duration

A high-quality dosha pacifying oil is chosen, based on predominant dosha and the doshic imbalance. It is then warmed for a few minutes. The therapist begins with a prayer, sets an intention to promote healing and relaxation, and begins oil application on the scalp along with gentle massage using circular motions. The therapist attempts to stimulate the marma points on the scalp, then the face, while avoiding the eyes and then moves gently to the neck and shoulders, using long strokes and circular motions. This process is continued down to the arms and legs, feet, and back, massaging each body part thoroughly. Once the massage is completed, the patient is left to relax for 10 - 15 minutes to allow the oil to penetrate the skin, followed by a warm shower to rinse off the excess oil. Use of a gentle herb cleanser is advised to avoid stripping the skin of its natural oils. The entire process of Abhyanga typically lasts between 60 minutes.

Treatment variations

These are different types of Abhyanga, based on the specific area to be treated. Our experienced Vaidya (Ayurvedic Physician) will recommend them based on your specific health concern and wellness goal.
